Miniature Boston Terrier

One of the original dog breeds of Americas, Miniature Boston Terrier has its roots in the Eastern shores of America, and the earliest record shows that the first cross was bred in 1865 and was exported to the distant England during early 19th century.

A descendent of British Bulldog and White English terrier, the new age Boston terrier is domesticated to live in confined houses and among family members.

Originally developed for dog fighting, latest refined breeding techniques, have assured a high class progeny, of good temperament and mild mannerism.

Miniature terriers make good house dogs, like their exercises and live peacefully with their owners. More often this dog sports a distinctive streak of dominant white in their coat, and is either brindle with white markings or essential black with white markings.

Experts do agree that brindles are preferred and should be even and consistent. Though the classification of categorizing Boston terriers based on their weight may seem somewhat confused,

several experts do agree that Miniature terriers are a class of their own breeds, where the weight and height have been markedly reduced to as low as 6 kg and 14 inches respectively.

This is often considered a significant breeding achievement, without forgoing or neglecting the original characteristics of the breed.

Miniature Boston terrier gives the appearance of a small, yet powerfully built compact body, signifying strength and vitality. They are often very active and usually carry their body with an aristocratic demeanor.

Also indexed as a hardy breed of dogs, miniature Boston terriers are too noisy sometimes, with a hint of overt aggression. The eyes are highly intense, while the gait is at ease and majestic.

Training these dogs is very easy and you may need to maintain a strict disciplinary regimen. Males usually display a marked territorial behavior and usually need socializing in its early age.

Though a miniature Boston terrier does not need heavy exercises, it would do well with long walks and park work-out. However, it can develop body injuries if the games or exercises are too rough.

It is also highly compatible with children and other family members, often displaying affectionate gestures like hugging and intense wagging of tails. A happy miniature Boston terrier can be your source of joy and an icon of confidence, as they are fiercely loyal to their masters.
