A variant of the Fox Terrier breed, the Parson Terrier is known to be equally talented at working as well as showing. In terms of companionship, the Parson Terrier is a spry, energetic and affectionate dog.

One of the main differences between the Jack Russell Terrier and the Parson Terrier is a difference of height. For example, the recognized height standard for the Parson Terrier is between 12 and 14 inches; while the recognized height standard for the Jack Russell Terrier is twelve to fifteen inches.

While one inch in height difference may not seem like a lot that one inch can disqualify a Parson Terrier from shows, so it’s important to understand these differences if you plan to show your dog.
